i haven't been there myself, but dp was there in 2000 and loved it, and my friend has just graduated from there and also loved it!

are you in the area? it's a fab place

FairyCCTaleEnding · 18/03/2009 23:01

My nephew is studying music there, in his first year. He's very serious about his music, and weighed up lots of options before deciding on Sussex. So from that point of view, I think it's pretty good.

He's having a blast - non-stop parties, moving into a shared house in Brighton next year, has made loads of friends (and is quite a shy boy, though don't tell him I said that!).

Sorry no more details, but hope that helps a bit.

we live near bournemouth
It's just outside Brighton right-she will go and visit but she wa concerned it may be too isolated from the town

I went here (donkeys' years ago mind) and had a fab time. I lived on campus for the first year and although it's about 5 miles outside Brighton the trains are pretty frequent so we tended to go into town once a week or so. There is plenty to do on campus though. Most people live in Brighton or Hove (actually ) in their subsequent years and so socialise in the town centre more than on campus.

Sussex has a good reputation so I'd say go for it! I have many happy memories....

Sorry ggirl I can't answer that one! It is well known and respected though honest!

PestoSunshineMonster · 19/03/2009 11:24

It's just down the road from me. It's got a very good reputation and will soon have a new football stadium right on the doorstep! There are easy-peasy bus links and rail links into town from there and it's situated on the Downs (although by a busy dual carriage-way), so a lovely setting too.

brimfull · 19/03/2009 23:33

thanks pesto
Am sure she will out it on her list of universities to visit.
I'll send her round for a cuppa

She's very welcome. ANd if she's quick I've got some lemon & lime drizzle cake to go with it

Lilymaid · 21/03/2009 13:18

Sussex is a well established 1960s university - others from that period include Warwick, Essex, York, Kent, Lancaster.

littlerach · 21/03/2009 13:27

I nearly went there in 1994 but went to Bath instead.

When I visited it I loved it and would have stayed there very happily.

littlerach · 21/03/2009 13:27

Oh, and I lived in Bournemouth too.

I thought it was a good distance from parenst!!
