Any experiences of Bayes business school?

DD is hoping to study Actuarial Science. We’d love to hear any experiences of studying here as it’s not so well known. We were impressed by the well organised, friendly open day but have questions about whether it is a ‘traditional’ uni experience in terms of making friends and extracurricular activities, and whether the students mix with others at City uni. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It's pretty well known - part of City St. George's, University of London. Your daughter would be able to access the wider City St. George's facilities, as well as the facilities of the University of London, like the library at Senate House.

Regarding the 'traditional' experience, it's not a campus uni and, like plenty of London unis, can suffer in terms of ease of getting to know your fellow students.

Because there are so many other things to do in London, it means that for lots of students (especially the international and commuter students it attracts) uni ends up being just a part of their lives rather than the centre of it.

It really depends on your daughter as to whether or not that's what she's looking for.

Hi, my son graduated from Bayes , studied accounting and finance and is now working for the big 4 on a grad scheme. Career prospects are great as all his friends all managed to get really good graduate positions post uni.
However, it definitely wasn't a traditional uni experience, most of the students do commute from London, and he found it very difficult to make friends initially..
However, he settled in and was very happy there after term 1.
There are a very high proportion of non white students, and the majority of the students are UK born ethnic minorities and also lots of international students also

Also, yes, the students do mix with others at city university as the first two years were on city campus and third year only was at Bayes. I'm not sure about acturial though?
He made lots of friends at city in the first two years
