Historical grades on UCAS

I don’t suppose anyone on here knows when UCAS update their historical grades data for each course? At the moment, grades are up to 2024, but I’m especially interested in the grades for 2025 for my DD’s uni choices this year. Thanks ☺️

Bear in mind that this year was something of an anomaly. I think most of us know or know of YP who got places on courses with lower grades than their offer. There were a number of reasons and some may still obtain next year, but no guarantee.
If that's why you want to know of course!

I don't think they're accurate necessarily. I looked at Cambridge's detailed admission stats and they didn't match for various subjects in terms of most common grades held by students.

Obviously I don't know about this across the board, but this was an example.

Also bare in mind that the lower grades are often based on contextual offers not standard offers.

Totally why I want to know, being very honest with you. I know it’s not a reliable indicator but I’m genuinely interested how 2025 data may or may not alter the picture.
Oh well, if anyone knows when it updates, I’ll be interested

Will it be of any use though?
I work in a University and sometimes a genuine error is made and we would then have to honour it & accept that student.
UCAS would then show their grades as the lowest accepted & some applicants then interpret this as they will get a place with those grades, which isn’t the case.
It would be better to check with the University directly, than rely on the UCAS data. It can be just a single applicant with the highest and lowest grade shown.

That’s a good point I hadn’t considered, although I don’t think they show the bottom 5% for this exact reason. Thanks though for commenting, you’re probably correct that it might not be as helpful as I thought…… sadly 😂

Contextual offers are excluded from the grades required
"UCAS past grades data excludes contextual admissions because contextual data is used by universities to consider an applicant's circumstances beyond their grades, such as socioeconomic background or the school they attended, to make more equitable offers. This allows universities to make adjusted, often lower, grade offers to students who may have faced educational barriers, which would skew the entry grade statistics if included"

Kitchendilemas · 24/10/2025 21:58

I am surprised they say they are not counting contextual offers as the grade they show definitely seem to include contextual offers we make.

Spirallingdownwards · 30/10/2025 15:00

The current sets of data also include the pandemic 2020 results too which distort stats as well.

It's based on 2022-2024 data....

I thought they only showed standard and not contextual offers.

It says that they exclude the top and bottom 5% of grades because they might be an anomally. Like a tripple A star student happy going to the local ex-poly university for their own reasons.

Spirallingdownwards · 31/10/2025 17:04

They must have revised it this year. Previously the UCAS Advisers access was for 5 years of past data.
