Would you interpret this offer the same way I have?

”complete 2 years post GCSE education”

My daughter has received the above in her uni offer (plus some GCSE requirements) - she has some disabilities so received a contextual offer.

I have interpreted that to mean she just has to finish her course and that her place isn’t dependent on the results.

She’s been doing a Level 3 Extended Diploma and has done really well on the course, she’s been getting distinctions on assignments, however, she had 1 exam which she failed the first time and is now absolutely freaking out about the results of her retake and that if she has failed that exam, she’s failed her course and she won’t get her place.

We’ve tried to get hold of admissions to clarify but are waiting for them to get back to her, but in the meantime I just wondered if anyone else had had that in a contextual offer and interpreted in the same way.

Thanks!

The UCAS embargo has now started so admissions won't be able to get back to you before results day.

(Edited as I see the OP confirms this is for a university place.)

Just to add, I don't have any experience or knowledge, but I would expect that the offer means that she needs to pass the course. Otherwise it would basically be an unconditional offer.

Thank you!

I think she’s worrying over nothing to be honest. She failed the first exam but at the time, she seemed to think the re-take went well. She talked it over with her tutor afterwards and he seemed to think she’d passed based on the questions asked and the answers she’s given.

The original offer didn’t ask for grades or anything like that, doesn’t specify an amount of UCAS points, just evidence of 2 years post GCSE - evidence can include attendance records, course transcripts, confirmation of attendance from college. Subject to a satisfactory occupational health assessment.

I have logged into her UCAS account, and it says congratulations, your course is confirmed so to me it looks like she’s in.
