My DD is graduating next month.
What is the norm re graduation gifts, is this something parents do?

I’ve mucked up. I bought a framed bus banner with “the place he lives via uni” last year when I saw it.

Sadly he’s not got the 2:1 he expected, didn’t like the course and doesn’t want to use his degree in the field he studied. So the present will just rub salt in the wound.

We paid for gown hire, a (terrible) photo and a lovely meal out. My mum gave him £50 and my Dad put £100 in my account to cover some very nice wine to have with the meal

Congratulations on your daughter’s upcoming graduation! 🎓 There’s no set rule when it comes to gifts from parents — it really depends on what feels right for your family. Some choose something meaningful like jewelry, a keepsake, or even a bit of money, while others prefer to celebrate with a nice dinner or family gathering. Did he get a custom stole as a graduation gift? That can be such a thoughtful and personal idea.
