Uni homes and accomodation for 2nd year

My DD is looking for a house share for 2nd year, I have heard of uni homes and thought it looked a good way of finding a student house. However she is at Anglia Ruskin in Cambridge and if you click on Cambridge on the unihomes site, it just says "coming soon"....but it's been like that since before Christmas whereas nearly all the other cities have homes listed.
Her and friends looked at a house they liked (via a portal from the uni itself) but missed out by about 20 minutes because another group got it. There is very little within walking distance to uni, on rightmove.
Does anyone have experience of student accomodation in Cambridge, is there likely to be anything on uni homes, or should she be looking elsewhere?
The house her and friends looked at last week was individual contracts which I'd prefer, but she's looking at another with a joint contract which I'm slightly hesitant about. She says they can't afford to be picky, (which I get) but I worry about soneone dropping out and being asked to make up the shortfall.

I think uni homes has been like this for a couple of years! I would make sure your DD is registered with Gray and Toynbee and SAB agents. It's a nightmare looking for houses. I would also make sure when she views, the forms are all completed and they have ID as they need to be ready to make quick decisions.

As in uni homes will be unlikely to have any properties?
It looked good for other places but maybe not for Cambridge.

I was looking at uni homes 2 years ago and nothing ever came on, I don't think they have any.

Thank you, that's what I basically needed, someone who's been here before, because I wasn't sure whether to wait to see if they did have anything, but obviously that's a big risk of missing others that are available. I've passed the info on to DD

If she can ride, a bike is a great investment in Cambridge, so the group can live a little further away from uni.
