TMUA and illness issue

Hello- I am posting in the hope that someone might know the rules around the TMUA and sickness. DD is taking the exam tomorrow and spent from midnight Sunday to yesterday lunch spectacularly throwing up. She is clearly on the mend today and has eaten a small amount and is less pale but still headachy and a bit woozy. She phoned the test company today just to check her options and got through to a call centre and they said she couldn’t cancel and move the test as it was less than 48hours before the exam. This was my fault- I read the rules as you couldn’t move the test for FREE unless it was 48hours before. Does the ‘you can’t move the test at all’ advice sound right? She said she wasn’t 100% sure she was getting her point across. We didn’t call and cancel Monday because she really wants to get it out the way and was hopeful it was a 24 hour bug.
She resigned to just trying to power through and I feel so sorry for her/- so much prep to have to go in feel under the weather.

I might be wrong but if she is sitting for Cambridge / Imperial then she has to take it tomorrow. You could ask the school if they’re able to send in an email but I also read the small print and the test is harsh. There are basically two dates and that’s it. I’m not sure about the January dates - they seem to be reserved for the non Oxbridge applicants.

Is it a virus or food poisoning? And has she stopped vomiting?

Someone else may be along to correct me but I think it’s take the test tomorrow or bust.

I will check with my DH when he gets in but we had a similar situation today. DD had been unwell and we were wondering what our options were. It's so unclear on the site as it just says cancelling when the test is under 48hrs away will result in forfeiting the payment. We then logged in to the account we'd had to create to book the test and I think found info there on what to do if unable to take the test. In the end my DD decided to go ahead and do it but I think (it still wasn't v clear to me) it was possible to cancel it and await the next round of booking which is later this month. I will ask DH (he was a bit more on it as it was him having to take DD to the test centre, I had to work).

Thanks for replies. She taking it for Warwick and then doing the MAT for Oxford later this month. She’s gone to bed now and hopefully she’ll be well enough in the morning to give it a try- it’s just thrown a spanner in the works, really feel for her.

Thank you. She was fine : )
DH says yes it was still possible to cancel and re book.
Really hope your daughter feels 100% better soon.

I’m glad it went well for her and thank you for the update about the booking that’s very reassuring.
