Hi just needed some advice, I'm a 34 year old mum and I've always had jobs etc but I didn't do anything with myself after I left school and I deeply regret it. As my children get older and I want the best for their education I have thought about how much I need to do something myself, an at home course I can do that works around them. I love learning all things about mental health and I also love beauty I just don't know what to do or what I need, thanks in advance x

For a bit of context, what sort of qualifications have you got so far? Maths and English GCSE OK? Anything after GCSEs? There may be different options available to you if you already have an a Level in a science subject (which would include maths) for example.

Brilliant idea. Explore online courses available and see what takes your fancy? Think about what you might use it for after - what job or career? Maybe just start with something that interests you with no pressure to perform or learn as such, just enjoy getting into learning again.

Adult Ed classes are starting up right now, and since lockdown many providers offer online courses. Start with your local authority and see what they offer. The WEA also offers online learning.

There are also providers such as FutureLearn, which offer free courses. Google adult education England (or wherever you are) and see what comes up.

I'd recommend trying a few different things just for pleasure at this stage, to get you back into the habit of regular study.

I would look into Open University and see what they have to offer that might appeal to you. I don't know where you're located, but there should also be some in-person local offerings to consider. 34 is young and the perfect time to take something like this on board. Good luck.

I would look into HR. Sign up for a CIPD level 3 or 5 depending on your background. Very lucrative.

HR isn't about mental health or beauty. I think she mentioned those were the things that interested her.
