Uni Student jobs

Hi , my dd is starting uni & would like a part time job , I understand that it’s difficult and competitive but what’s the best way

I read that indeed isn’t the best as they don’t respond to applications, has anyone had experience of this
Is it better to print off cv and deliver direct to employers ?

Unis often have job fairs with local employers. Or the uni itself have jobs.

Yes, you are right - Indeed can be patchy, when my children went into places they'd applied to on there only some of the applications had been received, going into the shops/restaurants themselves was more successful for them.

Get dd to drop in at small independent shops/coffee shops to see if they're hiring. My dd was extremely lucky and managed to find a job at the coffee shop on campus, took her over 6 months to find it though. There are 2 universities in the city that she lives in so lots of students looking for jobs. Fingers crossed your dd finds something Smile

Mine did both, when they went in person to drop off cv they were often told to look at Indeed. However smaller indie shops took the cv’s and a couple of my kids got jobs that way.

DD got several interviews via Indeed.

I also second finding out asap about internal uni jobs. They recruit from students for their campus clubs/bars, the libraries, catering and open days. They’re also term time only so great for when you come back home.
