Are there any Foundation Year Degrees for English Literature

I know about Art Foundations where you study for a year at a uni to see if you want to continue with it, but I was wondering if there are foundation years for other subjects like English Literature?
To clarify, I'm not talking about the foundation years unis make you do if you haven't met your grades, but rather a one year course that doesn't necessarily extend into a 3 year degree?
Thanks in advance!

You can do a Cert HE - a certificate of Higher Education. AFAIK this can then be counted towards a BA if you choose to continue.

Oxford University does one that is 2 years. Much easier to get into than other Oxford degrees.

You can also do summer schools at many unis. I know Oxford does a 3 week Eng Lit one and I think Cambridge does too. They cost a bit but they are intensive, and you can opt to live in. (More expensive.)

I don’t think that's what an art foundation year is actually. As I understand it, everyone who wants to do an art degree does one and it helps build a portfolio and decide on a specialism. Not really intended to see if you want to continue with it (tho I guess some do decide not to continue).

Never heard of a one-year post-A-level pre-degree course for Eng lit tho. I think if you have done A level, you know if you want to keep going with the subject, surely?

Edited to add: Cert HE then, sounds like that might be what you are looking for.

@clary is right. Art foundation courses are intended to help choose a specialist area, one that you would continue to degree level. In Art most (of course not all) unis require a foundation year to get onto the best degree courses (we've researched this a lot this past year).

No, not in the sense you mean. For good reason - these would reduce your loan entitlement (which is why the CertHE others have suggested wouldn't work).

Why are you looking for such a thing?
