Hi my dd has just turned 18 finishing her A levels she’s still officially at school as we’ve paid her fees until July when the school closes for summer
Do I have to pay for her dental check up I’m reading different advice some saying it’s 19 years

I don't think you'll need to pay.

DS got free dental check up this year during his first year at university

Under 19 and in full-time education - so the grey area is the gap between school and university. Book her in before the end of July to be safe on that, and tell her to make sure she goes to both dentist and optician before her birthday next year.

I think they don't officially leave school until August 31st but I may be wrong.

Went to dentist w 17 yr old DD yesterday (Aug bday) and they advised in full time education and 18 or under for free dental in England. So at long last there’s an advantage to having an August birthday!

Incidentally, Scotland you get free dental
inc free hygienist for under 26.

Corrected once I reread your post!

Who is entitled to free NHS dental treatment in England?

You don't have to pay for NHS dental treatment if, when your treatment starts, you're under 18, under 19 and in full-time education, pregnant, or you've had a baby.
