Any recommendations for a YP who wants to go paperless when at university? DD has always handwritten notes and essays at school but now wants either a laptop or tablet and is seeking recommendations for how to take notes (will be studying History and English). TIA

OneNote is very good and dd will likely get it for free as part of her uni login. Think of it as a virtual binder with as many pages / sections as you want that is searchable.

I use it in combination with Office Lens - an app on my phone so I can screen shot/photo stuff to add to my OneNote book and I have the email set too so I can email myself and it appears in my OneNote book

it will also work with tablets / handwritten notes but I don’t really use that feature as I’m a quick typist

“Goodnotes” is quite handy with iPad pencil. Allows voice recording of lessons that record as you make notes.

I’m a second year uni student and I use Evernote which I really like - it’s pretty basic but it gets the job done.

I'm a OneNote fan personally.

I don't know about software choices, but DD studying English uses very little paper. DS studying maths is almost entirely paper based.
