I’ve been scouring the internet but can’t find an answer …. DD going to uni sept 24. She is 21 living at home and has worked full time for over 2 years. I know I have to give my income (single parent) for 22-23 tax year but will her income for the same year be counted in the calculation? Obvs she won’t be earning that when at uni but might work very part time in the same job? I have done online calculations with and without her pay and it makes a bit of a difference.
Does anyone have any experience of this?

No, as she won’t be earning and hopefully will have savings to help her through.

Thank you, didn’t think that would be fair! Will I still include it on the application form do you know? Have only done estimate calculations, not braved the actual application yet!!

No, student income not required or used in assessment.

There’s no where to include it in form afaik.

Go through it and see. SfE helpline are helpful once you get through.

Thanks so much to you both, that has really put my mind at rest 😅

DS worked for a year before going to Uni. They definitely won't include her current wage Wink

You say she has worked full time for over 2 years? By the time her course starts will it have been 3 years? If so and her income is deemed sufficient for her to support herself then she could be classed as an independent student.

Unfortunately it will be 2 years and a few months so will still be classed as dependent I believe ? I’ve had a look and at least if her income isn’t counted I won’t have to make up as much as I thought originally. It’s made me panicky at the amount I am going to have to contribute but she will use some of her savings too.
Thanks for replying to you all … times have certainly changed since I went thru student finance …. When I graduated last millennium!!

Yes she will be classed as a dependent at under 3 years.
