Getting a degree in Autism

This is a bit of a long shot, but, I'm currently coming towards the end of my level 3 TA course. I was going to go down the SEN (special educational needs)route. When we watch Teachers Tv at college autistic spectrum is often featured on there. One of the mums we watched a video of has 3 children 2 of which are Autistic, (if I remember rightly). She mentioned she has a degree in Autism, I would love to explore this once I have done my course, but I've searched everywhere and can't find anywhere that does a degree in the autistic spectrum. Any ideas?

Thanks

is it possible she wasn't being literally and just meant that she just has lots of experience with it, due to her personal experience?

I think that Birmingham Uni has some sort of distance learning MA in Autism. If you do a search of MN posts, am sure this has been mentioned in the last few months on the special needs board.

Try to find Yurt in the special needs threads, if I am correct she is currently working in a course that involves researching autism. She may be able to give you some pointers.

Caerleon in Newport (my Uni) has an MA in ASD's, I am supposed to take it next year but will be doing it the year after instead
