My daughter has offers to do a one year foundation in art at London City and Guilds and at University of the Arts London. She is torn! Any thoughts or experience to share? She would be living in the London for the first time. Thank you!

@mondaytosunday There’s so much more that’s easily accessible in London than elsewhere and, as for your daughter, that can be a huge benefit but it can also be overwhelming. Being so close to the art world can also bring an unreasonable pressure to succeed straight out of art school. I’ve known a few promising students spend too much time out and about and not enough time in the studio and end up not getting as much from their degree as they could have done while others have thrived. As with most things, there are positives any negatives and what works brilliantly for one is awful for another.
