What do you need a GPA equivalence for, @overgrownstudent? Are you applying for a postgraduate course in the USA?

You might find this site useful: https://www.mastersportal.com/articles/2290/how-to-convert-uk-grades-for-masters-degrees-in-other-countries.html

@NoNotHimTheOtherOne thanks for the link
I had searched and all I kept getting was a formula to calculate and I couldn't tell which was which if that makes sense at all.

I am not applying for masters in the US but it was asked on a job application maybe because it's an international US company.

Sorry I had changed name 🙈🤦🏾‍♀️

Frankly I'd give them your transcript and let them figure it out. No idea why a job would ask for GPA.

No idea why a job would ask for GPA.

US companies expect applicants to show equivalence to their US qualification requirements. If they stipulate that applicants must have a GPA of 4.0 in their bachelor's degree, they are likely to require applicants from any country to provide evidence that their qualification is equivalent. A first-class honours degree from a UK university could correspond to a much lower GPA, depending on actual grades. Handing them a transcript and telling them to figure it out themselves has a pretty nearly 100% probability of resulting in your being asked who the hell you think you are and asked - fairly impolitely - to depart.
