Hello, my dd wants to go to university but doesn't know what to do at degree.

She is currently doing maths, economics and Spanish.

Are you aware of any websites that can quiz her to help her decide what to do as a profession or degree?

Thank you

I think you can put the a level subjects into the ucas website & it will suggest courses. Or at least it used to

If she's unsure if a career she may want a good idea is to study something she really loves. If she's passionate about the subject she is more likely going to be more motivate and achieve a higher grade.

A degree in a similar subject to job roles isn't always necessary as most jobs ask for degrees to show what level people can work at.

I would say the following stand out:

  • Spanish (maybe with another language ab initio)
  • Economics (very popular at the moment)
  • Psychology (maths is useful)
  • Spanish and maths or econ (lots of unis offer this kind of combo - Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham all spring to mind)

Or on another tack she could go for something unrelated to her subjects such business, or marketing, or sociology, or forensics - unifrog will help here but there are lots and lots of degrees which have no specific subject requirements.

I agree with @Plumtop11 and @clary , OP.

Students need to study something they genuinely enjoy in order to thrive, and s @clary’s list fits well with your DD’s subjects. But there are many other good fits.

Spanish is the language with the second greatest number of native speakers worldwide. Even though English is the international language of business, if your DD is passionate about her Spanish then a Joint Hons degree using it could be useful. It would help to distinguish her from the hordes.
