My DD went to a school careers fair and was
Very excited about discovering she could in theory combine these two subjects at degree level - can anyone help jog her memory as to which universities offer this ?
TIA

Loads of them do it at Bachelors level, have a quick Google! Good luck with it all, this is my line of work 🙂

Probably most!

Does she actually want to do that though? What are her career plans. If she does a straight Psychology degree (an BPS accredited one, most are) it will be more versatile if she changes her mind. Some joint honours courses are accredited but I don’t know about criminology at BSc level.

Ahh thanks so much for the replies !
Sorry to drip feed she is only in year 8 so we are just enjoying her enthusiasm and encouraging her to think about what is out there - originally she wanted to join the police and has now gone down this line of thought which sounds so interesting.
She thought there was only one place she could do them combined so if it's widespread even better but of course she may decide she wants to do something totally different before we get anywhere near !

This is DD's passion as well. I'm a big fan of a broad degree and specialising afterwards.

Yes this is probably wise!

Look at Keele University- they seem to do lots of psychology combined courses.

Do you mean by doing just psychology Bsc and then a MSc in something more specific?
DD wants to do A levels in sociology, psychology and one other (she wants criminology, I said a science) and then go into forensic psychology probably. I always thought a psychology degree was one of those you do when you don't know what you want to do with it, but maybe that's just the people I met who did one!

Too broad can rule out post grad though. The course at Plymouth for example isn't BPS accredited which rules out Psychology jobs.

I second Keele University. I went there and at the time you could combine any 2 subjects as dual hons. I did Psych and English Lit and many students on my Psych course also did criminology.

I did Law and Criminology at what is now the University of Lincoln. They have a BPS accredited Psychology degree.
