Scottish/Uk student funding for European study

Hi all,
Dd would like to study in Europe. Now that we're no longer part of the EU, this seems nigh impossible. We are Scottish and The Student Awards Agency Scotland has confirmed that they won't provide loans for tuition or maintenance.
Has anyone else come across this recently and is there any way forward?

Unfortunately not. UK student finance (no matter the country) is only for UK courses.

Students who wish to study abroad need to self fund

Scottish universities will facilitate a year in a host institution though.
Open days will have "study abroad" stands where you can ask about where they have existing relationships.

They used to have a pilot scheme with a few institutions thinking Netherlands, Denmark etc but don't see that anywhere now so probably didn't go well.

What about one of those dual UK/Europe degrees (I think Edinburgh is a limited partner for one and LSE/UCL too but subjects are limited)

Thanks all. That's what I thought. Such a shame.

If your DD can avail of the Home fee rate in Scotland, it really makes sense to study in a university in Scotland.

Your DD can go on an exchange year in Europe in third-year. She can even do a postgraduate degree in Europe as these tend to be better value there.
