Looking into Unis for ASD daughter. She copes pretty well these days, so will probably manage at a university.
We've looked at Hope because it is small, which suits dd.

I've spoken to various people I've met, and had very different opinions ranging from "No Hope at Hope" to very good experiences.

I'm hoping to get as many peoples views as possible please.
DD wants to study the SEN and disabilities course.
Thank you.

I went there - it's a brilliant place and I think would suit your daughter perfectly - it's very small in terms of the campus but has very good facilities and links to the university of Liverpool - you will always get people who say that it's not a 'proper' university but it has very good results and is excellent at pastoral care! Hope that helps!

I went to the UofL but I’ve heard nothing but good things over the years about hope. Nice campus, out of the centre, and I would imagine nice for SEN students as pastoral care is supposed to be very good.

I know someone whose DC attended Hope for a vocational type of course. Loved it!

It’s a small, condensed campus where everyone knows everyone and pastoral care is a high priority. If that suits her, then it would be a brilliant environment.

Its more religious than your typical uni because of the history.

Course wise it can vary, but education or anything related like your daughters course is typically excellent.

The No Hope at Hope or Hope for the Hopeless is just a uni chant - same as JMU saying about Uni of ‘I’d rather be a Poly than a c-my’

It stems from Hope typically admitting much lower grades and not as many students from Hope going into high flying or really well paid careers - but that typically isn’t what you’d be going to hope for anyway!

yes people call it no hope but I think that’s partly because it has a lot of courses that are not highly regarded academically.

It originated as a teacher training college and it still has a great reputation for teaching/education type courses.

DN is ND and was recommended to look at De Montfort by her school SENCO.

It's early sets but so far they've been brilliant.
