Uplearn for A Level Biology (Edexcel)

My daughter is about to start A Level Biology and has been looking at Uplearn to supplement her learning. The teaching has not been brilliant at her school in the past - high staff turnover - so she wants to be prepared.

Has anyone had any experience of Uplearn for A Level biology? Her school does Edexcel A rather than AQA or OCR which are the syllabuses that they cover specifically. They've said that there is a lot of overlap, but obviously she'll need to check this carefully herself.

Thanks in advance for any insights

I got uplearn for my son for maths when he was struggling a bit with mechanics. He did the free trial first and really liked it. He is using it for additional support - a more interactive text book which he dips in and out of when needed. It works for him, but I am not sure I would have gone for it if it didn’t cover his exam board. Hopefully they are giving you a discount for the additional hassle - if not ask. I got a £50 discount following a conversation with them which beats the referral deals that are around.

Have you looked at Tailored Tutors? It is more expensive but seems to be more personalised and does cover Edexcel. Was planning to get my son to trial it, but it was clear Uplearn would be enough for him - he has a great maths teacher who has been teaching him since Y8.

DS's school recommended Seneca which is free. They cover all the main exam boards.

Not for biology but was brilliant for DD A level maths

@Jaxx Thanks very much for this. Tailored Tutors looks good so she's going to trial it. I think it would be a better bet as it's the right board. I did ask Uplearn how similar AQA and OCR are (the ones they cover) and they sent back a very vague response which didn't feel me with confidence!

@EwwSprouts Thanks for the reply. She did use Seneca for GCSE but probably needs something a bit more in depth.
