DC looking for somewhere in England or Wales to study music. Not a Conservative. Predicted A star, A star, A. Liked Royal Holloway. Wants good range of modules.

He's just decided that Birmingham isn't that nice.

Where did he go in the city? What sort of stuff is he into?

If he just saw New Street, then yes it is a bit grim, but so is the area around the station in pretty much every single other major post-industrial city in Britain.

Colemore Row, Corporation Street, The Gay Village, the area around the town hall - all great.

Yes, did all that, walked around the canalside and went in the Symphony Hall. Which he did love, of course.

I used to work there. It’s an amazing place (though it’s aged a bit now) & is a feat of acoustical engineering.

daughter goes to Lancaster and its a lovely safe campus with a lake and a woodland walk. Well lit at night and plenty of security. buses every few minutes to the city. City is a small one but had all you need. Also bus from campus to blackpool and morecambe seafronts.

Fair play! Classical musicians can have a quite traditional mindset. If a more “historic” torn is his aesthetic, so be it!
