Final year, how much is the minimum maintenance loan?

I am usually very good at googling and yet have come across differing amounts on how this is calculated but no actual figure. I know that the loan is less as it doesn't cover the summer but if anyone could give me an exact figure for this year that would be really helpful.

I am working out my finances for the next 12 months.

Living at home, away from home or away from home in London?

@SouthCountryGirl sorry living away from home, outside London

@PettsWoodParadise thank you but that calculator is for starting in 2022 and my son's course started in 2021.

I've tried googling and have also got very confused! Best I could find is that you don't get paid for 9 weeks of the year, which means you get

PhotoDad · 27/05/2023 20:56

Oops! ... get 82% of what the "normal" loan is. But I'm very willing to be corrected on that.

SpikeOfAnnoyance · 27/05/2023 21:01

@PhotoDad I read the 9 week reduction bit but also that they are only covered for their term dates so that would be 38 weeks from start to finish including holidays. I am still 5 weeks out from the 9 weeks info.

It isn't clear anywhere that I can see.

I like a challenge to my Googling! From a random uni website: final year amount for those on minimum loan seems to be £4,324.

@PhotoDad brilliant googling, that is great. So £4324 and not as much a drop as I thought.
