Dance degree for Ukrainian

I am sponsoring a Ukrainian family. The daughter is 16 and will turn 17 in the summer. She wants to study dance at university - both performance and choreography.
She finished high school in Ukraine (just about - the war interrupted her last year) and in Ukraine would have then gone straight to uni - they go at 16 not 18.
She is at college in the UK now - doing maths GCSE and improving her English with an aim to getting an IELTS certificate.
Any advice on what she will need to do to get into uni for dance? It’s not my world so I know nothing (I understand how UCAS works though). Foundation year? Can she skip A-levels?
Thank you for any input of insight. My own children are studying STEM and had a very boring standard UK education so this is a whole new world for
me!

Just spent time speaking to several universities about this. Both had specific Foundation Year programmes for international students focussing on helping their academic English and beginning some teaching towards the degree course. Students can start aged 17 (with the exception of medical courses) using their Ukrainian qualifications.
We are in Wales and the Welsh Gov counts Ukrainian students as Home students so funding is fully available. I would imagine it is the same elsewhere in the UK.
Students apply direct via the uni website rather than through UCAS.
Worth ringing Admissions at the unis your young person is interested in for more info.

Depending on the level she is dancing at, she may be better looking at dance schools and colleges rather than universities. Most of them offer degrees or level 6 diplomas, and are filled with students from the age of 16 without A levels.

This might be an option if she wants a degree, but I would also consider a BTech at college or potentially a diploma if she is only 16.

I think if you head over to the extracurricular board you’ll find the dance parents threads, who will be most useful for info, probably.

Where does she dance now, btw? Her current teacher ought to be able to offer lots of advice.

My child is a dancer. Dance courses for performance generally start at 16 in the UK. They are often at specialist providers, not universities -eg, Central, Northern, Elmhurst, Rambert, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, etc etc. Some are degree courses, but others are funded differently. Some you can do from 18. Standard university courses in dance are unlikely to get you to the standard of a performing career. Roehampton university has a well regarded dance degree, however.
