Hi, the newly announced 8 May bank holiday for the coronation clashes with one of my child's A level exams. What do you think will happen? I'm hoping it isn't dragged out until the contingency day.

Is the A level timetable still provisional?

libbytrois · 06/11/2022 09:10

@hockeygrass yes I believe so. Hopefully it'll either go ahead as planned or slotted in on another May date ... could lead to clashes though!

Gosh I didn't think of that! I think my daughter has only been given one exam timetable so far.

ChemMouse · 06/11/2022 09:15

As far as I can see, all A Levels and GCSE exams start on Monday 15th May

hockeygrass · 06/11/2022 09:17

What A level is it as it seems quite early?

Merchantadventurer · 06/11/2022 09:19

Where I come from we do Uk GCSEs and A levels but have a different may half term week. We basically just had to go into school and do the exams!

I thought this as well.

Languages and practical assessments are often earlier.

tealgate · 06/11/2022 09:23

My ds's first one is 17th May, so yours seems super early??

gogohmm · 06/11/2022 09:28

Timetable is provisional at this stage anyway. I assume is a practical exam as a level main exams start later.

Sorry all.. panic over. Was looking at the international timetable! Blush
