My DD3 has just started at Exeter and it is a brilliant choice for her. The campus has a lovely atmosphere, and all within walking distance. Lots of halls on campus, really green space - even an outdoor swimming pool. She is enjoying being in one of the self catered flats in halls. she is only 10 days into her first year but so far so good. I think what is nice about Exeter is the closeness to the town and the clubs (!) as this is a key feature for their time if they are into that. Only a 15 minute walk up a hill home from all the city nightlife. Its also lovely for trips further afield into the countryside. It seems quite an unpretentious place so far, with smart kids who just want to crack on and work and play hard. Fingers crossed.

It's a great Uni town with enough for students to do - clubs, pubs etc and places to get a job.Good shops too! Campus not far at all from main bit of town and as PP said great area for them to easily get out and about too. My son loved it.

If it's sports science I think that's on the st Luke's campus which is smaller and less buzzy than the main one. Accommodation has vastly improved since I was there but is expensive. I had a great time there though!

My DS has done 4 years at Exeter and has been very happy there. He has been based at St Lukes's and its very close-knit community. All good!

I studied at Exeter and had an overall great experience. It’s a lovely small city that feels rural. The green space was one of the things I loved immediately. Glad to hear the pool is there still too.

There is a variety of student accommodation, from catered halls to self catering flats and these range in size, cost, feel and geographical location around the campus. St Luke’s is across town from the Streatham Campus and its own little community but it’s still within striking distance of all the stuff in town.

It's easy to walk almost everywhere - I got around a lot on foot. Thinking about it I don’t think I ever used the buses but there is a good public transport system.

There were plenty of societies at the university and loads of stuff outside university (for example I joined a local drama group over near St Luke’s) and the night life was decent. Plenty of pubs and a few clubs. Regular gigs/themed nights at the ‘Lemmy’ on campus, exhibitions and performances at the whatchamacallit (sorry!) on Gandy Street and indie films shown at The Picture House.

Cathedral Square and the Quay both lovely places to hang out. As is the area Topsham. There was a pub crawl called the Topsham Ten - it’s probably still a thing. That was fun in summer.

When I was there Exeter was considered quite ‘sloaney’ but I thought it was lovely and diverse and everyone was very friendly and mostly down to earth.

I was a poor northern kid - first from my family to go to university- and I absolutely loved my time at Exeter. Loved my course, made some good friends, found the staff great and very supportive and came to love life in the South West.

Yes sports science at Exeter isn’t at streatham campus so Streatham isn’t really relevant to her.

My DD has just gone into second year at Exeter. Her subject is based at the Streatham campus and I believe the medical subjects are at St Luke's which is a smaller campus. Although you can walk between campus in around 30+mins.

My DD is very happy at Exeter, great small city, very green, every where is very walkable and surprisingly decent nightlife with several clubs. Lots of societies to choose from and uni accommodation at Streatham was of a decent standard. My DD was in Lafrowda and one of her flatmates still chose to be on Streatham campus even though their lessons were at St Luke's.

Also to add DD and friends regularly go to the beach at Exmouth. Exeter is a lovely place to live.

Kids I know at Exeter all, without exception, love it. Agree with everything others have said. They all love going to the beach too!

I 've been an External Examiner at Exeter, and my observation was that students were pretty mobile between St Luke's & Streatham. The Sports CEntre at STreatham is pretty impressive
