I'd look at Southampton, KCL and Manchester... but they are all highly competitive. You will also want to consider transport links as your daughter will need to consider getting to placements from wherever she is living as well as getting to campus.

Southampton offers dual field nursing (so children's nursing + adult or mental health) as well as children's nursing on its own. Dual field is 4 years.

If she's intending to work for the NHS then the ranking of the uni isn't as important as it is for some other careers.

All (the many) student nurses that have nursed my dd from Birmingham City Uni have been great. (Not so much those from Birmingham Uni).

A friend's dd went to ARU (Cambridge campus - I don't know if all courses are fine at both campuses) and loved it. She got a job at GOSH immediately on qualifying.

All nursing courses have to meet a minimum standard set by the sector regulator so there’s not really a ‘well respected’ element to this. She should think about the points raised above. Ideally, opt for a course with links to a specific childrens hospital.

That should read all done at both campuses.

My daughter is in her third year at Plymouth University. Just applying for jobs in Cardiff and Bristol.

Very competitive course, only 60 places. She had loads of work experience to talk about in her interview
