Still early in the process so have some time re this.
DS has mentioned the following, at times, for possible career - Computing, Engineering, Product Design and Accountancy.
Now, obviously, there a degrees or similar quals for all of these.
But, the question is - are there some degrees, which DC are doing or have come across, which are a bit more unusual in these areas, or combine the areas, which may trigger an interest.
E.g. Games Design and Programming, Financial Computing, etc.
Thanks.

@catndogslife Accountancy as a career post degree is open to candidates with any numerate degree.

Yes, it is, but you end up having to do most of the professional exams of the accountancy body to get the qualification once you've left Uni, whereas if you do an accounting degree you can gain several exemptions from the professional exams for many of the modules that you'll have taken as part of the degree (accounting, economics, law, etc) so will be able to qualify as an accountant much quicker with a lot less extra studying/exams post Uni.

If someone is serious about accountancy as a career/profession, they'd be better to do an accounting/finance degree with accredited modules, just to speed up the whole process and get qualified a year or two quicker.

I guess if someone is firmly set on accountancy then there are various apprenticeship schemes which may be a good idea - I'd imagine they're pretty competitive to get on.

Also be aware FM is not a requirement for very many engineering degrees. It’s useful. But so is common sense and aptitude!

@slothbyday
Is this the kind of course you were talking about?

Mmu have quite a technology course

Holloway one you linked below so a good one too, I would want to check out the focus on art vs tech to ensure it meets your sons expectation.
