Our family has had a difficult 5 months due to severe illness and hospitalisation of a parent.

DS's college rang yesterday to say he is behind. Can you advise what your DCs are doing on a daily basis the addition study required for ALevels (all humanities). I think will the family issues we haven't been as present or as helpful as we could have been. Any advice would be helpful

I'm not sure higher education is necessarily the right place and you might get more helpful advice if you posted in secondary education with the actual list of subjects. Sixth form teachers/parents might be able to point you in the direction of useful resources.

I'm not really sure what my DD is doing to be honest - she as ks for help/advice when she wants it, and seems to just get on with teh rest.

Did staff indicate how your DS is behind?
HAs he missed many classes? Did he engage with online learning? Is he doing his homework? This must be the basics.

What subjects is he doing?

For every hour in class they are told to do 1 hour minimum study. Some subjects are running after school sessions which they are encouraged to attend. individual study is a mix of work set by teacher and making use of sites school have highlighted for each subject.
Are school aware home life not been the best as find then they are often more helpful.
