Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post...

I intend to study on an allied health professional degree from Sept 2022. I will be commuting 1hr each way to the course.

I am trying to find some first hand experiences of studying this type of degree with young children! (They'll be at nursery and infant school at time of starting the degree).

A) How many contact hours did you have each week averagely?
B) What were the shift patterns like on your work placements?
C) biggest challenges / positives

My Husband works full time and we don't have much family help. Children will be in wraparound care when needed.

I have tried to contact the uni but haven't heard back yet. Thank you for any tips and experiences you can share!

A lot depends on the subject. For example nursing a paramedic sciences the placements will eventually be over 24/7. Some more akin to Speach & language therapy will have hours closer to M-F 9-5

The placement will be like a full time job, average 37.5 hours a week and all manner of shifts. Depending on the uni and trust some don’t allow students to do nights but it’s possible you could. So shifts could be long days, short days, twilight or lates and nights. Including weekends. As a student you wouldn’t work Christmas etc
