How are your DC getting on if they currently have no face to face learning and no prospect of it until March?

We are just waiting for an update from DDs uni but there seems no prospect of on overall return to FTF until this date, as in the governments announcement the other day. Given that the Easter half term is only a couple of weeks after that it seems unlikely that there might be any until latish April.

DD has gone back but I'm concerned that this will be too much isolation. Obviously it was her choice but it doesn't stop me worrying. Just wondered how other parents and DCs are coping.

Mine are really getting sick of just online learning.

Sorry to hear that tarrapin I hope your DS feels better soon but it is tough for him.

BackforGood I'm glad your DD is fine but I'm afraid you are missing a couple of points with They arrange 'entertainment' between them - as you would expect with adults - they shouldn't expect some mysterious "other people" to arrange her entertainment
I did not say this in my post. My point was that normally there is a lot of clubs and social activities for them to join and a chance to meet other people apart from flat mates. They are 18, first length of time away from home and are in Lockdown fgs. Your DD gets on with hers, great, some aren't so lucky.

If my ds returned he would probably be the only one as two of his five flat mates live abroad. So it’s a pretty lonely life doing online all day and no one even in your living accommodation to speak to.

feels more like a £3k a year cost of an open university type course

The OU charges fees commensurate with the £9K a year now. The prices for their courses are shocking :(
