OU "Open" Degree

I'm currently educated the the equivalent of the first year of a degree, I'd like to gain a degree but I'm not sure what in (I keep having a reoccurring dream about unfinished education).

Currently a SAHM and not sure I'm interested enough in my old career to study it as a degree.

Work wise I have a job lined up post children that doesn't require any specific qualifications.

So a degree would most likely be just for me but it feels a waste to do something without "potential".

Is an "open" degree the way to go or a waste of money, should I study something specific? Psychology interests me a lot.

I looked into this as it seems a great way to get a degree, but was advised that it would be a waste of money for me as I needed something specific. OU has also got very expensive now, it would be a big indulgence just for fun.

I've recently registered my interest in a module to do an Open Masters course, and read that as you go through selecting your modules, they may recommend moving to the named qualification. You sign up for a module at a time so nothing is set in stone from the beginning. I'm looking forward to starting mine and am a bit gutted it doesn't start until October!
