Hi, DD applying for 2021, and changing her mind abt which unis to apply for- not helped by no open days! We did go to roehampton last year and whilst she liked the education department she didn't like the campus. Does anyone have any recommendations ? Thanks!

Kingston? Not too far from Rowhampton.

I would get her to check the % of face to face contact at a place she doesn't like the campus. I would say at least 70% of my degree which is the same was placement and I was only on campus a handful of times

Mine has just started at Brighton and so far so good. He was interviewed at Reading, Brighton and UWE but picked Brighton. He's doing a specialism with primary maths.

Edge Hill.

Brighton, Kingston. What didn't your dd like about the Roehampton Campus. I'm local and have walks there and it's beautiful.

SM33 · 10/10/2020 21:37

Roehampton campus is very beautiful but the surrounding housing estate could only be described as a bit sketchy at best.
Bath Spa is lovely.

That's being polite @SM33 Grin

Homerton, Cambridge

zaphodbeeble · 10/10/2020 21:48

Homerton is no different to other Cambridge colleges these days, they’re not a teacher training college anymore

UWE, fantastic campus, excellent teachers, brilliant facilities and Bristol is a wonderful city to live in.

Did is currently at edge hill and although is enjoying the seminars this week and she moved her weeks tarter last summer, this year she's somewhat disappointed with their Covid handling.

The latest issue is that they have moved all of their teaching practise this academic year, for both the primary ed degree and the PGCE courses, to online! So she won't be going into school at all this year.

It's the only place we know of who has done this so far.

However, previously - and hopefully it will return to this next year - it had been high on DD's list and was highly recommended.

University of Gloucestershire? It’s in the Cheltenham campus at FCH. Grew out of a teacher training college.
