Hope your DD is soon feeling better. Lots of fluids, paracetamol and good food.
I will add to my previous post that DD has also stayed away from lectures when she knows other ‘bugs’ are going around - 200 hundred students in a lecture theatre and things soon go round. And yes, she has had a flu jab as she is in a high risk category.

Sure - as would be the case for any cold symptoms which might turn out to be flu etc.
And hopefully she knows to be extra careful about using tissues sensibly, hand washing and keeping them away from her eyes, nose and mouth to reduce the chances of passing her cold onto more people - things which should be the norm whenever you've got an infection.

My son (at Northampton uni) showed similar symptoms since Friday, when he was hallucinating with a high fever yesterday I told him to call 111. They sent him straight to the hospital and diagnosed him as having "just" the flu and he's currently on his way home with DH.

The biggest threat in Uk universities is still viral (or is is bacterial?) meningitis but thankfully the doc ruled that out.

Lots of normal, seasonal flu going around at the moment. Hope your DD is feeling better soon

Definitely lots of flu around. My illness has lingered on for two weeks now, my son is the same.

that sounds worrying @nokidshere, at least 111 responded quickly.
