My DD is first year in her 5th week.
She has been a bit up and down since getting g there but the last couple of days she seems very down.

Today I don't think she has left her room or eaten and I am so worried about her

I have sent her the details for student support and she says she has contacted them but I suspect that is to fob me off and she prob hasn't at all

I can get there friday evening to see her but what else can I do in the meantime?

That's so worrying. Just call her every day and check the basics - has she eaten? showered? dressed? Made it into lectures/seminars? Can you help her set small targets for the day and fulfill them? E.g. get dressed, go out to get food, attend a class, sign up for a social club I might like. Let her know that it;s normal to be scared and overwhelmed and take ages to settle in - LOADS of students do. And let her know that there are ways to overcome this. It's also not irreversible. If she absolutely hates it, she can come home.

She is at Surrey uni. They have made her an appointment at the wellbeing place now but not for a week so that's a start

Have been talking to her most of the day. She hasn't eaten today I don't think which is a concern

I will have a look at that page thank you

@dancingdirty - that's good news, WWIKAU is a very supportive group.
