I mentioned this in the main applicants thread but not sure whether it should be a standalone thread.
Ds sent his ucas off a couple of weeks before Christmas. He has repeated a year in the 6th form (so he's effectively in year 14) due to illness. He took one A level at the end of year 13 and got a C. He picked up two new subjects at the beginning of year 13, a two year BTEC (will get a Distinction, maybe a D*) and another A level (predicted a B). Sorry this is boring but relevant!
He has received three offers, one very very low (ucas points, he basically only has to get an E in his a level) and two achievable - a distinction and a B (along with the C he already has).
Another uni Sent him an offer - but it was clearly aimed at an international student (asked for DMM in a Btec diploma, 3k in fees and a pass in an English test). Ds emailed them to say they must have made a mistake. They wrote back to say yes they had and would submit his correct offer within 5 days (no actual apology but hey ho). Today he received an offer for ABB for three A levels. He's only taking two a levels plus the btec!
Should he contact them again??! Obviously he can't meet that offer, but if that's what they really want surely they would have just rejected him?
Any advice welcome sorry its so long
