Not sure on direction

Hi all, first post made by me but a really long time lurker around the mn boards.

I'm in my final (4th) year at uni doing my hons and I'm unsure what direction to take my education after this. I had intended on doing a masters in a more therapeutic (think art therapy) direction but am now in a quandary.

I was recently approached about going into teaching as a possibility which would also tie in with any therapy lines but I'm wondering about marketing. It's something I've always been interested in and working with dynamic teams in a creative manner. My degree is in a creative field.

I'm not sure what I'm after here but for a career what kind of direction would you think would lead to better prospects for the future?

Ps I'm a very mature student/single parent few kids.

Does being a very mature student with dcs mean you have to stay in a particular area for schools etc.
Would suggest you do some on-line job searches to look at job opportunities in the areas that you are considering local to you. If there are none - would you be prepared to move where the jobs are (or not).
The ads would also give an idea of starting salaries etc.
If you are applying for a masters course then you need to ask about what type of jobs students go into after completing the course. That info should be available.
For teaching they usually recommend visiting a school before applying for courses.
You don't have to apply for just one career path - it possible to apply for more than one and see what happens.

Thanks for that. I'm in a very fortunate position to live in an area with many options for unis but yes, I don't want to love the children from their area.

I have previously done some work within schools and further education colleges and it was there that it was raised to me that I should seriously consider this line.

I have been looking into work in the related fields and, again, I'm lucky enough to be in an area with many opportunities.

Today I have been filling out applications for a couple of masters courses for next year, it had completely become lost in my mind that I can apply to a few differing disciplines at the same time and take time to weigh up my options.

Thanks for the reply, it really helped reconfigure my thoughts.
