Admissions to Birmingham for MSc - panicking slightly

Right, this isn't for me, it's DS who is doing everything he can to get this sorted but I thought I'd try here as well.

Ds graduated ljmu 2 years ago, then went into the City.

Applied to do msc at BHAM starting this month, got a conditional offer immediately, subject to

Production of degree cert - check
Employers reference - check
Tutor from ljmu - outstanding

When he calls and texts ljmu they fob him off, tutors away bla bla.

He still hasn't had an unconditional and lectures start next week.

Ideas please? He's resigned job on the basis he's going back to uni

Contact bham and explain the situation. See if they can accept an alternative reference from someone else at ljmu or a further employer reference instead.

Thanks dot, I presume he's tried that but will text him and check. Smile

Does he have to have an academic reference? I have just started an MSc and was told when I applied that as I wasn't straight out of uni an employer reference was more relevant than an academic one.

Apparently (he doesn't live here so I only get bits of info) BHAM admissions say he can't register till the unconditional offer is made and keep telling him to check the portal which he does, but it still says "awaiting academic reference ". BHAM contacted LJMU months ago. All sounds a bit strange to me.

If it was my problem I'd be on the phone for as long as it takes to get a resolution but it sounds like he's being passed around the houses. He's too old for mummy to get involved obviously but it's stressing me out😂
