New UCAS tariff

So I've done an access course. I got 39 distinction and 6 merit. 138 points which my tutor told me is the equivalent of AAB at A level. However the UCAS calculator concerts AAB to 136 points. I know it's only 2 points and more than enough to do my degree but I plan to do a master's at an RG red brick so these two apparently unaccounted for points could make a difference at that stage. Would the B, be considered a high B or will they just go by points rather than A level equivalent? If AAB is 136 then I did slightly better than AAB and I feel like that should be recognised? Especially as it's a very competitive MSc.

Universities usually specify points & not grades if A levels haven't been taken.

Just that the tutor did say they sometimes convert the points to A level equivalent, if say, the uni doesn't give details for access requirements on their site.

A level/access course results would never be relevant for entrance at masters level - it is bachelors degree results that determine offers for masters courses.

Yeah I need a high 2:1 or a first. I'm thinking in the event that they're weighing people with the same classification degree, would they not look back at other grades to help make a decision? Someone who got AAA will be the more attractive prospect over someone who got BBB? I met entry requirements months ago but was told to keep getting good grades and not relax about them because one day, it could make a difference in a situation like that.

If they're weighing people with the same classification degree, they have plenty else to go on - grade breakdowns, personal statements etc. They're not going to go back to your entry grades for your bachelors - they're totally irrelevant by that stage. Don't worry about it.
