Anyone doing Adult Education?

So many questions!!!

What are you studying? Is it full or part time? How long is the course? Where do you do it? Are you enjoying it? Are the course fees expensive?

I would like to do something. DDs 1 and 2 are both full time at school and I am now working part time in the job I used to do pre-children.

Would like to get some ideas as to what's out there.
TIA

Best thing is to get a local college prospectus. Courses range from a day, to two + years, one evening a week to full time. Is it for education or hobby? xXx

You will find collages offer everything from hobby based stuff, compimentary therapy/beuty courses, language courses...for fun or for qualifications, through to exam assessed stuff.

You need to get the local collage prospectus. Some will cost(fees often reduced if you are on benefits) some like computing qualifications can be free.

Great fun but often hard work

More for a hobby I think. I did plan to change my career when I spent my time as a SAHM. Now back at work doing the same thing as before. So much for that one. Not sure what I'd want to do anyway.
I thought about a cake decorating course - but I can't bake a sponge for love nor money .
Thought about sign language but I'm not sure where I would use it.
Something I do fancy doing is something along the lines of food "sculpting" if there is such a course. You know, learning how to cut shapes etc from a piece of fruit/vegetables etc just like you see in a posh buffet etc.

I am doing a French evening class at my local college. 1 night a week for 10 weeks - £80. Its a lot of fun.

I've also just started a humanities course with the Open University. (I am an engineer and have always wanted to do some arts courses). It is £595 for the year - runs from Feb - Oct I think, but I have some prelim work now and my first essay due in beginning of Feb. Haven't written an essay in 15 years!

I have a DS (1.5), work 3 days a week and have just found out I am pregnant again, so I may have bitten off a little too much...

HI, I'm doing a Foundation Degree in Business part time 7 hours a week on a Thursday night at Barnet College, then after 2 years I go to Middlesex Uni to complete an honours. I am very proud of myself as I have a 3yr old toddler and a full time job, its difficult but I will get there with the determination and drive of a woman who needs to have that damn piece of paper saying 'now give me more money'! Its about £600 per year but some students are getting their bosses to pay for it. Its a new govt initiative and you can get all sorts of Foundation Degrees in lots of subjects, used to be a HDE and now joins with Unis. Good luck
