Degree with art and maths

My daughter is doing A levels in art, maths, geography and physics. She is bright (7 A* and 3 A at GCSE) and also very creative. She did a week's work experience at an architects and hated it! She got frustrated with long meetings debating tiny details... She has no idea what to do as a degree. She would like to do something with art, but also loves her maths (which is why we had thought of architecture). We have thought about interior design, but we are not sure if that gives the academic stimulation she wants.. Any ideas please?

Engineering and architecture are both pretty general and so is geography. I would aim as high as she could for the general degree, and go for the one with the most maths content.

I would also try not to be put off by distance from home. Glasgow is an excellent university.

I'm not sure that GIS is a good idea for someone "not particularly keen on being in front of a computer". DS says it's deadly dull (but necessary, so he sucks it up).

I did civil/structural engineering back in the 80s. Loved the technical drawing part. Within 3 years of graduating it was all CAD. Totally different skill set. Really felt sorry for the old school draughtsmen/women who were left behind or forced to change.

My dd loves both Art and Maths and is now at university studying Product Design which combines both, she does plenty of drawing using a pencil, CAD, workshop using various materials, electronics, mechanics, modelling, a few essays. Brunel have a very good course.

We visited many universities and looked at several different courses which helped her narrow down what she found most interesting. Architecture, interior design, arty courses, industrial and product design etc.

Also, went to exhibition and end of year degree shows.

'Go to university in the US....'
and how will she pay for that with no student loans?
