Can you go into Clearing for a deferred place!

DD has her gap year planned out.
She has 2 offers, one very aspirational, one possibly achievable, both for deferred entry until 2016.
If she doesn't get in either is it possible to go into clearing this year but for entry next year?

No. If she misses both her offers, she will have to re-apply next year.

It is possible to apply via clearing for deferred entry. Universities prefer not to have calls for deferred entry at the beginning as their priority is to fill places immediately. So I would advise waiting for a few days. But after that it would be fine.

It is also usual to ask for standard entry grades (rather than ones being advertised in Clearing).

Yes, you can, although universities usually expect to deal with applications for entry for the current year (i.e. 2015).
