Student Finance Website WARNING

For any of you that are about to start that annual nightmare of applying for finance for your children, a note of warning - don't try and access the website on an ipad or other tablet!
After making a dozen attempts to do that, making 15 calls to the helpline before I could get through, listening to 45 different options I finally spoken a real human who told me the website doesn't work on ipads.
Well student finance how about putting that info on your email or the front of the website ? Even better heres a daring thought given that 97% of households use tablets how about changing the website so you can?
grrrrrrrrr

Interesting piece of information - but surely your children apply for their own finance? I didn't even know you could do it for them. DD certainly did her own.

Sky - parents have to add their finances. I had to log in for both my sons and put in earnings as did my DH.
Faith - will tell DH not to use his new ipadGrin.

So how did you do your financial declaration bit then?? Hmm or did your DD do that too? Shock

Agree with others skylark, the parents have to fill in their own details of savings, earnings etc

Does anyone know if in the first year dd says she doesn't want household income taken into account can she change this in subsequent years. It's not worth going through the hassle of assessment this year but will be worth it next and beyond as our household income is changing. Have tried to ring student finance but they don't seem to have any human beings working there.Grin

I rang student finance yesterday and spoke to a lovely, helpful 'Paul Hutchinson' I am pretty sure he was human. But to answer your question, assessment is year by year.
