Anyone done the Open University Engineering Degree

If so, how did you find it? Worthwhile? Too difficult / easy? I already have a degree and an MSc from red brick unis but would love to study engineering & also think it would really help with my career.

That said, I'm 38 & already quite senior in my organisation so not sure if it would really benefit me overall or just be 6 years hard slog for not a lot of return!

Thanks to anyone who may respond, even if just to say what the OU is like.

I've only done one engineering unit and it was a while back.

The OU is not as good as it once was. There's a general trend to online delivery, fewer face to face tutorials and fewer books. All for vastly increased fees.

I'm still on the old arrangements, but there is quit a lot of grumbling from newer students. But I'm Maths/science.

You would find it manageable.

I would wonder how on earth they can replicate the lab work which is so vital on any worthwhile MEng course. If you want to be a chartered engineer you need a 4 year MEng undergraduate degree. Does the OU offer this? Check with the Engineering Council or you could waste a lot of money and many years! Also, how do you do collaborative projects at the OU? Do they have specialised courses? Eg. Civils, Mechanical, Chemical, etc? If not, what exactly is the qualification for?
