MBA - distance learning

Has anyone done the Warwick distance learning MBA and would like to share their experience? Or any other MBA for that matter?

I'm considering doing one over the next three years while I'm a SAHM, so that I can go back to work when it finishes and my youngest will be at school. My background is finance/consulting but I'm keen to broaden my skills and learn more about strategy/marketing/general management.

I will have childcare for two days a week - is this enough to cope with the course?
What sort of jobs do grads go into after the course? I'd be keen to go in-house and not go back into consulting due to the travel demands.

My DH did the Warwick MBA on distance learning. Timing was a bit crap as I had a newborn with brain damage at the beginning then a NT newborn at the end of the 3 years it took him to do it so I got absolutely no help from him as he was working full time and studying in the evenings and weekends.

As you aren't working and have a full 2 days a week you may find it a lot easier, though you should expect to also do a good few hours in the evenings and weekends.

DH was at that time a junior manager at a Big Pharma company. Doing the MBA helped with his career progression and he's now a senior VP.

It was bloody horrible at the time but worth it in the end.

Thanks mumble, I got the impression that it is pretty hard work. Sorry to hear about your DC.

My DH did a distance learning MBA about 10 years ago. It was hard as he was working full time doing long hours and then studying as well. During his studies he changed job twice and we had our DDs. He managed and we survived and he's since had several promotions so definitely worth it. As you're not working it should be less onerous but is still a big undertaking. Good luck.

Hi there,
I am working part time and doing a distance learning MBA at the moment. I try and study on the two days that I don't work, and I although it is hard work, am progressing through the modules well.
I cant answer what jobs are there at the end of the course, but hopefully in another year's time I will be able to :-).
If I can answer any specific questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
