Does anyone have DCs at Southampton who can explain to me why the same room type is more expensive at Glen Eyre than Wessex Lane ? We visited Wessex Lane on Open Day and thought it was ok but didn't get chance to look at Glen Eyre - before DD thinks of applying for halls can anyone offer any insight into these or other halls ?

There were unusual issues with the Southampton accommodation this year because of the extra number of students accepted onto courses such as engineering. These issues are not meant to recur next year - the university has acquired a lot of additional accommodation this year and is speeding up its building program of new halls.

Very glad to hear it. The twinning happens most years though, but to a lesser extent in that most are de twinned in the first 6 weeks.

It has happened to a lesser extent in most recent years, yes, but this is meant to stop happening in the coming years with the increased number of hall rooms, more private accommodation acquired by the university etc etc.
