Eeek I have an Interview at the university of manchester to study audiology. There will be a presentation then a tour. Think you can chat with students then an Interview. Anybody any advice for me I am a mature student at age 44. What should I expect I am excited but nervous. ...

No idea about audiology but its a great uni and a good city to be a student in I miss it.

Best of luck - remember that they think you can do it, that is why they have asked you for an interview.

Try to stay calm in the interview and be interested in the interviewer's research and areas of experience, just ask them in the interview, chat a bit. Ime they love to talk about their work

A lot of the interviews that Manchester does are non-selective - that is, almost everyone who is invited gets an offer, and the main purpose of the day is to market it to you as a good choice (which it is!). Audiology is not a particularly competitive course AFAIK, so chances are it's a non-selective interview. You do, however, still need to take it seriously.

Just make sure you've prepared answers to questions such as "why Manchester" (show you understand the course + flatter the department / uni a little), and think up some questions that you'd like to ask them that weren't answered in the literature.

Yes, do look up the interview panel (if you can) on Google Scholar to see what they've published - or indeed the department's own website will show links to their work. If you don't know who's interviewing you, find out about the department's research and see if there's anything there that is particularly of interest to you. As for questions: you might want to ask about connections to practice; do they offer placements?; where to graduates typically go? What form does the coursework take?
