How did first day at 6th form go then?

Since there are threads about reception and threads about Year 7 starters I thought I'd be thoroughly PFB and start this one.

Surely it was only last week I had him prized off my leg dropped him off in his new uniform at primary school?
This morning I waved him off to 6th form.

Not great on Tues, very lacklustre, reminded me of peeling him off my leg @ nursery.. but better this morning.

Watching with interest, we start on the choosing of sixth forms very soon. DD1 can't wait - she did not enjoy day one of Year 11. She needs to be in sixth form already!

DS is thrilled with it. At last he is doing just the subjects he loves, Maths and sciences, and no more English and French.
Themumsnot he loved Year 11 from the social point of view but was chomping at the bit workwise to start A levels.
What he hates though is the long day. He went on a dedicated school bus to secondary school at 8.30am and back by 4pm. For college it's a service bus that goes all around the villages. It leaves at 7.40am and he doesn't get home until after 5pm.

DS2 first day back at 6th form college was " fine " and his second day was also " fine " . He is not really a talkative boy Hmm.
I will get some more info out of him in good time possibly, or possibly not

Dd is enjoying it, especially not having to wear uniform any more. Made some new friends on the bus on the first day and it's all been quite positive. She's gone from a long day to a shorter one so that's good too. No evidence of very much homework yet though, but like your ds Secret, she's extremely happy to have no more essays (she's not had a critical thinking lesson yet, which is compulsory and so hasn't realised stringing words together will in fact be required after all). Very scary to think how the time has flown.
