DD2 is off to school in Sept, and so i have a few hours a week to do a course. IM trained to work with kids and families and have spent years working in this field aswell as education.

I would like to do something other than my choosen field but something i will enjoy and be useful.
I have not done courses (apart from ones via work), for a long time.

I looked at sign language but then its not a course for me iyswim
I like look of flower design but how would i ever use it
I was thinking something like a simple house type course that would teach things like electrics and pumbing.

I would like to know what others have done and enjoyed please :)

TIA

I was looking at ics courses online the other day.

They do a diploma in floristry-9months

some of my local florists do short courses specific around flowers hand tied bouquets, floral arrangements.

also they do dressmaking which could be handy make your own clothes or for the kids.

maybe something craft related as could start making xmas pressies.

good luck with finding something you like and enjoy.

im in same situation still trying to work out want to be when grow up.

Have you considered going into your local university and discussing possible opportunities? Health visiting / Nursing - most health relayed diplomas/degrees cone with a bursary & you don't have to pay fees as the NHS cover the cost of your training... If you have nit been in formal education for a while you may have to do an access course, however they prefer people with life experience rather than straight out of school or college... Good luck Smile

Thing is with two SN kids and dh dx I don't want to commit to something too hard going with major deadlines on coursework ect as thing can and do change quickly in this house and if one of the Dds are having hard time it can take a lot and if dh treatments stop working its huge stress and I know it wouldn't help and cause more stress Sad
I have also sped last 12 years in education and social work roles which I love but don't fancy more training in Blush
Thanks for suggestion though keep them coming.
