Would I get a student loan?

I have the equivalent of a foundation degree so could top up one year full time (currently £8200 [gasp])

My other option is part time study at OU except they don't offer top up in my subject so I'd have to start again in a different subject (which I'd love to do as want a career change). Obviously pros and cons to both with work/childcare etc to think about too.

Would I qualify for a loan as I can't do anything without so I can just stop thinking about it anyway...

I started (have done 2years) at OU, took time out for ds2 and now fees have somewhat increased Hmm

You should get a loan for the top-up year yes.

Finding a university to take you on the other hand..... (generally we prefer a three year degree commitment rather than a one year commitment).

Thank you. The specific top up course I'd being offered at two universities I know of (and they're crying out for students to do it!) so that will be fine.

Not for OU though? I'd prefer that really.

Either way you'd onlybe entitled to a year's loan. So even if you did a full time equivalnent year with a loan with the OU, the remaining two years equivalent woulnd't be funded from the SLC.

Thank you very much, that's helpful.
